Privacy Policy
Omnibus reads your product prices to display the legally-required “lowest price in the last 30 days”. It never reads your orders or anything about your customers.

Summary
Omnibus is a Shopify app that helps you comply with the EU Price Indication Directive (Art. 6a): when you announce a price reduction, the storefront must show the lowest price you actually applied in the previous 30 days. Omnibus records your price history and displays that reference. It reads product and variant prices only — it does not read, request, or store any order or customer data (Protected Customer Data does not apply; we access none of it).
Data we access
read_products — prices
Product and variant prices (and compare-at prices), captured when they change via the products webhook, plus a one-time backfill on install. This is the only input the 30-day reference needs.
write_products — one metafield
Writes ONE app-owned product metafield (omnibus.references) holding the computed reference price per variant, which the theme block reads. We never edit your product content, price or inventory.
Price history
An append-only ledger of your price changes over time — the evidence that justifies each “was” reference. It contains prices and timestamps, nothing that identifies a person.
Shop & app data
Your shop domain, currency, app settings and billing status.
What we never access
No orders and no customer data of any kind: no names, emails, phone numbers, shipping or billing addresses, IP addresses, or payment details. Omnibus does not request read_orders, read_customers, or any fulfillment/financial scopes — only read_products and write_products.
How we use your data
- Record each price change into an append-only ledger.
- Compute the lowest price applied in the last 30 days before a reduction (Art. 6a), and the % off from that reference.
- Publish the reference to the omnibus.references product metafield the theme block renders.
- Let you export your price-history evidence, and operate billing, support and the app itself.
There is no AI/LLM in Omnibus — the computation is deterministic arithmetic over your own price history. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
Retention & security
- Managed session store: Shopify access tokens live only in the app's session storage and are deleted on uninstall and on shop redaction.
- Prices only: we store price points, computed references, app settings and billing status — never a customer-identifiable record.
- Deleted on uninstall: on app uninstall we mark the shop inactive; on Shopify's shop/redact webhook we delete all of the shop's rows. All traffic is served over TLS/HTTPS. Data is hosted on a dedicated server in the European Union.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Because Omnibus holds no customer personal data, Shopify's customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks are answered truthfully — there is nothing customer-identifiable to return or erase. To exercise any right over your merchant account data, contact us at [email protected].
Honesty
The reference we display is the lowest price you actually applied in the 30 days before a reduction — taken from your real price history, never an invented “was” price. If we don’t yet have a full 30 days of history for a product, we say so rather than overstate the reference.
